Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access
Print this pageCharanga Ltd operate and manage this site on behalf of Enfield Music Service.
All children and young people should have the opportunity to sing, play and produce music, and we hope everyone using our platform enjoys every minute of their musical journey.
At Charanga, we recognise that some children and young people face barriers to participation in musical activities. For music education to be truly inclusive, we also know we must go beyond equality of opportunity. We, therefore, strive for equity as a company, adapting our products and services to meet the needs of all students.
We are equally committed to supporting teachers and project leaders with everything they need to teach music confidently, professionally and with enjoyment and enthusiasm. Again, we recognise that some may face challenges and barriers to supporting their students in their musical education. They require music teaching resources and tools which are flexible, adaptable and appropriate for the needs of the young people they work with; that present, reflect, respect and celebrate diversity and difference in our communities.
To this end, while www.charanga.com is WCAG AA compliant, we are continually working through our logged-in platform systematically to support the needs of its users. Through our work and partnerships, we strive to do better, minimise bias, recognise and address systemic inequities, and improve access, inclusion, equity, diversity, and high standards in music and expressive arts education.
We want IDEA – Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access – to be central to our offer and future plans, and we will continue to update our stakeholders with information about our IDEA strategy.
